Washington Paid Leave Rulemaking on its Way

What happened?

On October 3, 2023, Employment Security Department (department), Leave and Care Division, filed a CR-101 for Paid Family and Medical Leave rulemaking.

What do employers need to do?

All interested parties should provide comments on said regulation, following the contact information provided by the ESD.

What are the details?

CR-101 was filed to consider amendments to existing rules related to the topics of placement and precedential decisions. The department may consider including other guidance beyond these topics, as necessary. The CR-101 can be viewed on the program’s rulemaking webpage under “Current Rulemaking”, where draft rules and meeting notices will also be posted when available.
