We want to remind employers that based on their Quarterly Reports, which should have been submitted during the calendar year, the Washington Paid Family & Medical Leave will calculate the business size to determine whether it is small or large.
This will result in the premiums that the employer’s business would have to contribute.
If the business has not been in Washington long enough to file the quarterly reports, by September 30, the Washington Paid Family & Medical Leave will calculate the business size by averaging the number of employees reported over the quarters for which reporting exists.
If the business size changes from small to large, or vice versa, the program will send a letter in October to the mailing address listed in the business Paid Leave account.
