We wanted to remind employers that the minimum wage for covered healthcare facilities workers in California, due to the enactment of Senate Bill (SB) 525, will start in a phased program, beginning on June 1, 2024.
Although Governor Newsom is seeking to delay the implementation due to a budget deficit, the effective date (June 1, 2024) remains without alteration. For additional details visit the following page.
The phased implementation will be:
- Large Employers and Integrated Health Systems
- Hospitals with High Government Payer Mix, Rural Independent Facilities, or County Run Facilities in Low Population Counties
- Primary Care, Free, Community, and Rural Clinics
- Other Covered Health Care Facilities
Vensure HR will update employers if any relevant update happens.
